Wii beats usual wedding night activities

22 January 2009 One Comment

Once upon a time the wedding night was all about, well, traditional activities, unless, of course, you were drunk and incapable – or he was. But now it seems a lot of newly-weds are getting hot and heavy not with each other but with the popular Nintendo Wii console. The active lounge computer game is proving a major gift hit in the US.

Wii tops Amazon top 100 gift list

Yup, that's right. Forget the crystal and pots and pans, the console is so popular with American couples it's currently out of stock on Amazon, where it tops the company's wedding gift registry top 100 list. Sony Playstation comes in at 44th – a distant runner-up to both to the Wii and the more predictable No. 2 on the hot gift list – a 10-piece Pyrex storage set.

Not quite the same is it.

It seems today's newly-weds definitely subscribe to the idea that the couple that plays together stays together.

Do you think is Wii the best wedding night fun ever? And what would your favourite gift be?
